Jen Meyer is an Educational Consultant with 22 years of Teaching Experience. She has taught 5th grade general education and K-8 special education in a variety of educational settings. She loves teaching students with a wide range of learning, social, emotional, and behavioral differences.
Jen’s vast years of experience as a special education teacher is an incredible asset to help families navigate the best path to help children succeed at school. She works cooperatively with students’ families, teachers, and school administrators to align curriculum and learning strategies to close academic gaps, and provide support outside of the classroom. She assists in the development of IEPs (Individual Education Plans), PBSPs (Positive Behavior Support Plans), BIPs (Behavior Intervention Plans), as well as 504 Plans.
As a tutor, Jen believes in developing authentic relationships with students to assist them in meeting their individual goals. She meets her students where they are at, and utilizes their strengths and motivators during lessons to achieve success. When Jen meets with students she creates high interest lesson plans, researches ways to assist her students improve executive functioning skills, and continuously works towards building their confidence and a love for learning. Jen’s primary role as tutor is to guide students in being proud of who they are.
Jen received her B.S. in Elementary Education at U of M Moorhead in 1997 and M.S. in Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders & Learning Disabilities in 2004 at University of Minnesota Moorhead.
